Our Ministries

Sunday School
Sunday School is Bible study groups that meet on Sunday mornings for engaging people from all walks of life with the bible. We believe that this interaction will result in transformed lives based upon the truth of God’s word, and that this transformation will lead believers to follow Jesus in their daily lives and to be enthusiastic about sharing Him with others.

Youth Ministry
Security First Baptist youth ministry include grades 7th-12th grade. As a group, our goal is to learn and grow as followers of Jesus, and to go out and share Jesus with others. Our regular activities are Bible studies & worship on Sunday morning and evenings, Wednesday night AWANA’s, monthly fellowships, missions and summer camps.

Nursing Home
SFBC’s nursing home ministry serves at the Willis Nursing Home on the third Sunday of every month except June. We have a worship service, provide snacks, a craft, and demonstrate the love of Jesus to the home’s residents.
S.W.I.M. Team
Security Women In Ministry: We are the women of the church who minister to the needs of our church and its members. We serve through shut-in ministry projects, women fellowship events, and any other needs as they arise. SWIM meets on the first Sunday of the month after worship service to plan events and pray for our church family.

AWANA
Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed, or AWANA, is a scripture-based curriculum for ages 1 year old to high school. AWANA clubbers enjoy a night of scripture memorization, fun activities in game time, and large group lessons that drive home the meaning of the scriptures the students learn each week.
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Alaska Mission Trip
The Alaska mission trip is a partnership with GraceWorks and local churches to reach of the city of Anchorage. The main way we do this is by serving in park ministry, in which we serve lunch to hungry children, engage them with games and activities, and teach them about Jesus through Bible study and personal testimony.

Candy Roll Ministry
The Candy Roll Ministry is a partnership that we have with Shepherds for the Savior to minister to the villages in Mexico every Christmas. We will pack 10 pieces of candy into a toilet paper roll, and then wrap it with Christmas wrapping paper. Shepherds will then take the roles to pastors in Mexico who will travel into villages, hand out the rolls and present the gospel to the village.
Nursery Ministry
The nursery cares for the children of our members and visitors during services and events. Our staff and volunteers are there to love and serve your children so that you may have a peace of mind as you attend Bible study and worship.
